Seems like a really shitty article. Typical "bleh, a bunch of rich people
doing something for their fellow rich people makes me feel bad" style
journalism that I'm guessing is all that _Fast Company_ has to offer these
days.
So, not to be confused with Stanley Kubrick's space thriller, 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was set in the year 2024 and launched in 1968, and had no interstellar monolith but did feature a "lucid dream", but that's actually the only thing this game has in common with Star Wars Battlefront.
(That is, it doesn't have the Star Wars look and feel.)
The fact of the matter is that the Universe in Zero-G is a simulation, based on a dystopic near future in which the might of the military have become so powerful that no one can stand up to them. The main villain, the Elite (for you video game gamers out there) have developed a way to travel into the past and rewrite the past so that it looks like the future we know and love. However, it's only in the past that our main character can do anything about the situation, and thus, she's also written to be the same character as in the original game, who returns with two rather terrible multiplayer maps for you to play on, and two rather terrible new gameplay mechanics.
In other words, the game really doesn't have any of the Star Wars feel, because none of it really does. It also has some very dodgy collision detection.
But, if you're into that sort of thing, it's certainly a fun game. If you're into that sort of thing, or if you're into the sort of thing where someone has paid £20 for your beta access, you'll certainly enjoy it.
